The Justin Leo Marshall Scholarship
Foundation is a memorial foundation established in honor of our friend
Justin. Through donations and
annual fundraising events, we aim to raise money
for the scholarship fund in Justin's name.
Justin was an exceptional person whose life touched the lives
of so many. Though his passing has left a great void in this world, we
daily embrace his memory, and have established this scholarship foundation
as part of his legacy.
Although his life was tragically cut
short at the age of thirty, Justin lived his thirty years well.
He lived with love and a passion for life. He was an outdoors
enthusiast, enjoyed hiking, traveling, sports and concerts, and spending
time with his family and friends. Justin was a devoted son, brother,
and uncle. He was a great boyfriend and best friend. He was an
exceptional student, coach, volunteer, mentor, teammate and leader.
Justin is well remembered for his
intelligence, compassion, and ability to make others laugh. He is also
well remembered for his focus, determination, and devotion to higher
learning.
Justin attended Wakefield Memorial
High School through his Junior year, where he was active in Basketball and
Football. After his Junior year, Justin transferred to Governor Dummer
Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts. While at GDA, Justin was involved
with student government, played football, and was captain of the basketball
team.
After high school, Justin attended
the United States Military Academy at West Point for two years before
leaving due to back surgery. He went on to the University of Notre Dame and
graduated in 2003 with a BA and a minor in public service.
Justin then then went on to pursue a
law degree at Suffolk University and graduated with honors in May 2010.
While in law school, Justin worked for the City of Boston in the law
department and volunteered for several political campaigns.
Justin was a young man whose
potential was limitless.
In honor of his life and devotion to
higher learning, a scholarship fund has been established in his name with
the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield.
